LEHI — The city’s annual Foam Day event will take place on Saturday, July 21 at the Lehi Sports Park, 700 S. 2000 West.

The event begins at 11 a.m. with water blow-up toys, shopping, entertainment and more. Free watermelon will be served by Macey’s in the afternoon and the featured “foam” spraying will take place from 2-4 p.m.

This free event is held in celebration of Pioneer Day and takes place on the Saturday before July 24. It began as an idea from City Councilman Johnny Revill when he attended a similar event in a smaller community in Idaho.

This event is so unique and popular that it was recently featured in the July issue of National Geographic magazine. The photo and caption can be found at ngm.nationalgeographic.com/visions-of-earth/visions-earth-2012.
