SANDY — Sandy and the Salt Lake Valley Health Department are sponsoring events to collect all types of household hazardous waste.

Waste items includes unused fuels, used motor oil, transmission fluid, fertilizers, pesticides, paints, thinners, antifreeze, fluorescent light bulbs and other chemicals.

These collection events will be held on July 12 and Aug. 9 at the Sandy City Public Works facility at 8775 S. 700 West. Collection times will be from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. only.

The Public Works Department is also equipped to accept limited types of other waste throughout the year. The ABOP collection facility is located at public works facilty and accepts antifreeze, car and RV batteries, motor oil and paint.

In addition to these items, the public works facility will accept electronic waste as well.
