SOUTH JORDAN — A new multi-seed bluegrass blend that will help conserve water and reduce maintenance costs is being used in city park strips. The new grass is growing along the 11400 South corridors from the freeway to 3600 West.

The new sod has a euro-green color and differs from normal grass by growing 6-8 inches in length. The grass is designed by Chanshare Sod Farms, which says the grass allows up to a 30 percent water savings.

To maintain this new type of grass, the supplier suggests fertilizing once a year and mowing twice a year.
