AMERICAN FORK — The city's proposed 2012-13 budget will not include a property tax Increase.

The American Fork City Council met in a work session on May 31 to discuss whether to include a proposed property tax increase as part of the fiscal year 2012-13 Budget. The City Council asked staff to evaluate all positions and cost-saving ideas  to find ways to cut the budget before determining whether to seek a property tax increase.

A public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled June 19 at 7 p.m. at the Historic City Hall, 31 N. Church St.
