ALPINE, Utah — Heading into Wednesday's final round of the Great West Conference Women's Golf Championships at Alpine Country Club, the Utah Valley University Wolverines, who are in second place, will have to make up a 10-shot deficit to catch Houston Baptist.

The Wolverines, behind a school-record 69 by freshman Lynn-Marie Nagel, held a three-shot lead over Houston Baptist heading into Tuesday's action, but combined for a 311 to drop 10 shots back.

Nagel led the Wolverines with a 4-over-par 76, while Brooke Bliss and Lauren Ballenger shot 5-over-par 78s. Jordyn Dougal finished with a 79.

Houston Baptist shot a 301 the first day and was just three shots back of UVU, which shot a first-day 298. Tuesday, HBU shot a 298 and UVU posted a 311. Chicago State (622) is third, while UTPA (654) is fourth and North Dakota (659).

Nagel (68-76-145) still holds a two-shot lead over Houston Baptist Kelsey Lou-Hing (71-76=147) for top honors. Dougal is tied for fourth and Ballenger is tied for eighth, while Celeste Gish (78-81=159) and Bliss (84-78=162) are 13th and tied for 15th, respectively.

Final-round action begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
