ROY — A Morgan woman died in a freeway accident Monday night.
Eva A. Trump, 41, died after her northbound vehicle crossed over the median at milepost 338 near Roy about 7 p.m. and collided with a semitrailer traveling south, said Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson.
Witnesses indicated Trump was "driving reckless," darting in and out of traffic when her vehicle went off the right side of I-15 that was under construction, the UHP reported. She overcorrected and went across all lanes and entered the median.
"Her vehicle dropped off an embankment and went down the hill to the bottom where there is a cable barrier. The vehicle went under the cable barrier and entered the southbound lanes of traffic," a UHP report states.
Her vehicle then hit the side of a southbound semitrailer and Trump was ejected. She was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. "No impairment is suspected," the UHP reported.
A fatal automobile accident shut down the southbound I-15 Monday.
At 7 p.m., a vehicle traveling north crossed over the median at milepost 338 near Roy. The driver, Eva Trump, 41, of Morgan, was killed after the vehicle hit the side of a semitruck traveling north, Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said.
Southbound I-15 was closed around milepost 338 as crews worked to clear the area. Johnson said UHP did not yet know why the vehicle crossed the median. There were no other injuries reported.
