WEST JORDAN — The parishioners of Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the dedication of their new church with a special prayer service.

The church at 7405 S. Redwood Road will hold the service on May 1 at 7 p.m., followed by a blessing of the new Workers Wall mural and a memorial to Dorothy Day, the founder of the Catholic Worker Movement.

Martha Hennessy, granddaughter of Dorothy Day, and Judy Barnett of the Utah AFL-CIOare the special guest speakers.

The event is not just for Catholics or members of St. Joseph the Worker. Representatives from other faiths and other parishes are also invited to attend.
