LOGAN — A 22-year-old man was arrested Sunday after police say he robbed a Subway restaurant.
About 1 a.m., a man entered Subway, 446 N. Main St., and demanded money, said Logan Police Lt. Brad Franke. Employees noticed the man was holding a "sharp object" in his hand, Franke said.
After the man received an undisclosed amount of money, he ran from the store. Nearby witnesses thought the man's behavior was suspicious and took note of where he was fleeing, Franke said. When detectives arrived, witnesses were able to point out where he ran.
Investigators served a search warrant on a nearby residence and arrested Mathew Johnson. Detectives also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the residence.
While being interviewed at the Logan City Police Department, Franke said Johnson took a chair and smashed a window in the interview room.
In addition to being booked into the Cache County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, Johnson was booked for investigation of damaging jail property.
