WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are seeking a Riverton man who reportedly abandoned his injured wife at the scene of an accident.
On Jan. 12, an officer responded to an accident near 1400 West and 3900 South where a vehicle had run off the road and into a power pole. The driver of the vehicle had fled on foot from the scene without notifying police, according to charges filed Wednesday in 3rd District Court.
The man's wife was a passenger in the vehicle. He allegedly left his wife unconscious in the vehicle with injuries to her head, face and arm.
An arrest warrant was issued for Trevor Peterson, 32, charging him with leaving the scene of an injury accident, a class A misdemeanor, and failing to keep a proper lookout on a roadway, a class B misdemeanor.
