OGDEN — Police have identified a man found dead in the hot pots near the mouth of Ogden Canyon Tuesday.
Stephen J. Webster, 68, of Salt Lake City, was at the hot springs near the Ogden River with two friends, police said. Webster was in one hot pot by himself and his friends were in another. About 10:45 a.m., after being in the pools for about an hour, one of the friends found the victim face down in the water. It was unknown how long he had been under the water.
Friends called 911 while attempting CPR. The man was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital Center where he was later pronounced dead.
What caused the man's death is under investigation, but police said the death is not considered suspicious.
