Legendary BYU coach LaVell Edwards will be honored in Boise on April 11.

Edwards and his wife, Patti, are the ninth recipients of the Nell and John Wooden Coaching Achievement Award given by the Boise-based World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame, according to the Idaho Statesman.

BYU completed its Pro Day on Thursday, and today the Cougars will hold their final practice of the spring. It will also be Alumni Day.

Former BYU quarterback Jake Heaps, who tranferred to Kansas, is looking good in the Jayhawks' spring drills, but he's not eligible to play until the 2013 season.

The Spokane Spokesman-Review examines the West Coast Conference's decision this week to expand. The WCC added the University of the Pacific.

"Does the West Coast Conference need to work on its expansion encores?" writes John Blanchette. "The Church League made an outlandish splash in its first growth spurt in 30 years: Brigham Young.
