Americans' economic confidence has reached its highest point since 2008, when Gallup started daily tracking of confidence in the economy.

Weekly economic confidence in the U.S. advanced to -17 in the week ending March 25.

Confidence in the economy is currently up one point from the previous high of -18 for the week ending March 11, according to Gallup. The percentage of Americans who believe the economy is "getting better" rose to 44 percent last week. The percentage of Americans who think the economy is not improving but is actually "getting worse" dropped to 52 percent. The number of consumers who said the economy is "poor" dropped to 41 percent last week from 42 percent the previous week.
