STANSBURY PARK — The Ogden Tigers traveled to Stansbury Tuesday and beat the Stallions 4-1. Eric Calderon scored two goals for the Tigers. Lyden Egbert and Roque Ceja also added goals for Ogden. Josh Gallegos scored the lone goal for the Stallions.

Things got started quickly for the Tigers when Ceja scored a breakaway goal to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Just moments later, Calderon scored his first goal off a gorgeous cross from Ceja to extend the lead to 2-0.

After many lost possessions for the Stallions, Calderon scored again. He took the ball from just outside the penalty box, dodged multiple Stansbury defenders, and finished while falling down to extend the Ogden lead to 3-0.

A foul by Stansbury later in the first half gave the Tigers a great opportunity to score. Egbert got a penalty kick, and beat Stansbury’s goalkeeper Kyler Clements to extend the lead to 4-0 heading to halftime.

A second half goal by Gallegos cut the deficit to 4-1, but the Stallions had no time, and no legitimate chances to score.

The Stallions have been outscored 10-1 in the past two games, but hope to bounce back Wednesday against their cross-town rivals, the Grantsville Cowboys. The Stallions dropped to 2-4 on the season. Meanwhile, the Tigers moved to 3-4, and will face Bear River on Friday.
