UtahState’s men’s golf team will travel to Arroyo Grande, Calif., this week to compete in the Cal Poly-hosted Lamkin Grip Match Play Championships on Thursday and Friday, March 22-23, at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
Each team will field five golfers with the No. 1 golfers from each team playing each other, No. 2 vs. No. 2, etc. First-round pairings are Cal Poly Gold vs. Towson, South Dakota State vs. Seattle, Fresno State vs. Utah State and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps vs. Cal Poly Green.
The first round will be held Thursday morning starting at 7:30 a.m. (PT), with the semifinals set for Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. (PT). The finals will tee off Friday at 7:30 a.m. (PT). All groups will start at the 10th hole.
Competing for the Aggies will be senior Chanse Godderidge, sophomore Tanner Higham and freshmen Brennan Coburn, Tanner Jenson and Andrew Paulson.
Utah State placed seventh at the Washington State-hosted Snowman Getaway held in Goodyear, Ariz., in its last competition, where Paulson tied for 23rd at 8-over 224 (74-74-76).
Coburn currently leads the team with a stroke average of 75.35 in 20 rounds, followed by Jenson (75.45), Paulson (76.00), Higham (76.07) and Godderidge (76.10).
