SALT LAKE CITY — Excited Utahns camped out and waited in long lines to be the first to buy the new iPad.

Many brought their lawn chairs and blankets for the long wait at the Apple store at the Gateway mall. Some die-hard fans even spent the night outside. 

The third-generation iPad comes with a faster processor, a high-resolution screen, an upgraded camera and voice dictation program.

A basic 16GB model costs $499. The 32GB model is $599 and 64GB is $699. Models with 4G connections cost $629, $729, and $829, respectively.
