LOGAN — Utah State's women's basketball team moved up to first in the country in 3-point field goal percentage at 39.2 percent, according to the latest NCAA statistics released on Monday.

The Aggies are 161 of 411 from beyond the arc. USU is also fifth in the NCAA statistics in free-throw field-goal percentage (78.9 percent). Delaware is first in the country (81.4 percent).

This is the first time Utah State has led the nation in 3-point shooting. It is also the highest 3-point percentage in the Western Athletic Conference since Utah shot 39.2 percent during the 1994-95 season.

The Aggies finished the regular season with a 20-8 record, including an 11-3 WAC mark. The 20 wins is school-history record. The 11 WAC victories for USU is the most wins in a season since joining the league for the 2005-06 season.

The WAC Tournament will be held on Wenesda-Saturday at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Utah State will take on seventh-seeded Nevada on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. (This is the first time the Aggies have ever been a second seed in the WAC Tournament.
