LAS VEGAS —BYU shot over 70 percent in the first half and leads Gonzaga at halftime, 36-35, in the West Coast Conference Tournament women's basketball championship game.
The Cougars are shooting 71 percent (15-of-21) from the field and three players (Dani Peterson, Lexi Eaton and Jennifer Hamson) have each scored six points.
Turnovers, however, have plagued the Cougars. BYU has given up the ball 11 times.
The Bulldogs are led by guard Haiden Palmer's 16 points, having hit 7-of-8 shots from the floor.
