Utah State's men and women's track and field teams will send three athletes to the University of Washington Qualifier at the Dempsey Indoor facility in Seattle on Saturday, March 3.

Seniors Sonia Grabowska, Daniel Howell and Kim Quinn will take on some of the toughest competition in the West as a last chance to qualify for the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships that will be held at Jacksons Track in Nampa, Idaho, on March 8-11.

Saturday's action begins for USU with Grabowska in the pole vault at 12:30 p.m. MST, followed by Quinn and Howell running the 3,000m races at 2:35 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

Grabowska and Quinn helped the Utah State women win the 2012 Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Nampa. It was the first WAC indoor title for the USU women as well as being the first conference indoor championship since the Aggie women won the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation indoor title in 1994. Grabowska claimed her second-straight WAC title as she cleared 3.83m (12-06.75) in the pole vault, while Quinn placed fourth in both the 3,000m (9:58.69) and 5,000m (17:32.92) races.

Howell won two WAC titles last weekend as he crossed the finish line first in the 3,000m (8:14.79) and the 5,000m (14:34.45). Howell also set a new USU record in the 5,000m earlier in the season when he finished in 12th place (14:04.25) at the Husky Classic on Feb. 10, at the same Dempsey Indoor facility the Aggies will revisit Saturday.
