WEST VALLEY CITY — A family of eight escaped unharmed from an early morning fire that destroyed their mobile home, consuming everything they owned in the process.
Fire Marshal Bob Fitzgerald said the blaze was reported at midnight Sunday and was "well involved," when firefighters arrived on scene at 3235 S. Eastcrest Road (4230 West).
"There was fire shooting out three sides," of the home, he said.
It took crews about 15 minutes to fully extingiush the blaze. A cause remained under investigation, although Marshall said the fire appears to be accidental. The mobile home was a total loss, he said.
The American Red Cross is working with the family for other living arrangements.
