The Food and Drug Administration has banned Daniel Allgyer, an Amish farmer near Lancaster, Penn., from selling raw milk to customers outside the state.

The FDA claims unpasteurized milk is too risky for consumption and is able to stop its sale over state lines.

Ironically, many of Allgyer's customers buy unpasteurized milk, claiming it is a healthier alternative.

"Many families are dependent on the milk for health reasons or nutritional needs, so a lot of people will be desperately trying to find another source now," said Liz Reitzig, a mother and raw-milk activist.
