The Utah Department of Transportation has opened bids on three separate projects to seal-coat sections of various highways in Sevier, Carbon and Sanpete counties.

J.S. Sumsion & Sons of Spanish Fork had the apparent low bid to seal 3.3 miles on U-6 from the Spring Glen/Carbonville area to West Price. The second project involves placing a plant mix seal coat for a 2.7-mile section of I-70 from the summit of Salina Canyon to Red Creek. Cox Rock Products of Centerville had the apparent low bid on that project.

An asphalt slurry seal coat will also be placed on 10.4 miles of highway from eight miles up Fairview Canyon near the U-264 turnoff to the line of Sanpete and Emery counties.

All projects will cause considerable traffic interference, and motorists should expect lane restrictions and some delays. All work on these projects is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed by Sept. 1.
