An Ogden man has been ordered to stand trial for the death of a Weber State College foreign student killed while riding a motorcycle.

Edward D. Archuleta, 32, was ordered to appear in 2nd District Court July 1 to enter a plea to a third-degree felony charge of vehicle homicide following a preliminary hearing before 2nd Circuit Judge Brent West.

Archuleta is accused of driving drunk when he struck a motorcycle on March 29. Takashi Uemori, 21, of Tokyo, suffered massive head injuries in the accident and died the following day.

Prosecutorws allege that Archuleta was intoxicated when he turned left in front of Uemori on Washington Boulevard.

If convicted, Archuleta could be sentenced to serve up to five years in prison.
