The Alpine School District's maintenance coordinator will retire at the end of June.
Donald K. Frazier, who has worked in Alpine for 16 years, has been a valuable asset to the district, said Harold Jacklin, administrator of facilities."I have called on Don for hundreds of assignments during the years, many times in the middle of the night. (e met) each task with professionalism and enthusiasm," Jacklin said. "We will miss Don here in the district - his leadership, his ability to deal with people and his maintenance skills."
Before joining the district, Frazier was chief of security at the University Mall. He has also worked as district supervisor for a chain of convenience stores.
He retired from the United States Air Force in 1969, after receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and the Bronze Star. He served in Korea and Vietnam as a gunner engineer and air fields supervisor.
