Kerry, age 31, our New Years baby, lost a valiant battle with cancer September 10, 2000. It's his love that did something to us; the spell we were under was his love. He was taken from us having spent so little time with us. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Kerry was born January 1, 1969, the son of Newell (Mike) and Karen Nielsen of Cleveland, Utah. He was raised in Sandy, Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High School. Kerry is a member of the LDS Church. Kerry also received his Eagle Scout at the age of 16. Kerry enjoyed all that life had to offer, little league baseball with his three sons, riding and racing his motorcycle, boating, camping and hunting with his black lab Reno.
Survived by his living wife of 12 years, Tami Keller Nielsen; and his three sons, James, Kerry and Koleton; his parents; brother, Shawn Nielsen (Jeri); and sister, Kristy Lawrence; in-law's, Gary and Vicci Keller; Tami's brother, Scott (Jill) and sister, Lori. Many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends will miss Kerry, his little league baseball team the "Mets" and his grandmother, Kathryn Nielsen.
Special thanks goes to Dr. Harker, Dr. Litton, Dr. DiFiore, physician assistant John Humphreys and their staff, also to the hospice nurses for their care and love.
Services will be held, Friday, September 15, 2000, 10:30 a.m. at the Oquirrh 6th Ward, 6667 S. Clernates Drive (5365 W.) Friends may call at the church, Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the day of the service from 9-10 a.m. Interment will be at the Cleveland City Cemetery, Cleveland, Utah. Cannon Mortuary Funeral Directors.
Kerry's dying wish was for his boys to have a college education. The Tami Nielsen Trust Fund has been set up at Credit Union One, 1805 S. Redwood Road, S.L.C., UT 84104.
