Three more apparent gang killings were reported early Tuesday, less than 24 hours after police vowed to "bring the madness to a stop" and a report showed an average of two gang shootings a day this year in Los Angeles.

Six people have been killed since Friday in apparent gang violence, including a man who died Monday night and two who were killed early Tuesday, police said. One of Tuesday's killings was in apparent retaliation for the Monday night slaying.

A weekend of gang violence and a report Monday showing two gang "drive-by" shootings a day this year brought a fresh vow by police to continue their crackdown on gangs.
