A Salt Lake man was booked into jail early Friday following a barroom fight during which several shots were fired.

The man, 25, was located a short time after a fight at the Foxy Lady, 1704 S. Main. About 12:15 a.m., the bartender said he tried to eject two men who he believed were perpetrators of a fight when one of the men pulled a gun and began "redecorating the place" by firing several shots into the ceilings, walls and floor, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Don Bell.

The gunman then allegedly turned to the bartender and said, "Maybe I should kill you," according to Bell.

Acting on a description. police found a man near 800 S. Second East. The man had a gunshot wound to the right knee. Police also found a small-caliber handgun.

It was not known how the man was shot, "And he ain't saying." said Bell.

A man was treated at Holy Cross Hospital then booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault.
