Anyone who listens to police scanners, including and newspaper reporters, must have questioned their hearing Friday night at 10:15 when a discussion ensued on the Utah Highway Patrol channel about the governor being locked out of his mansion.

A phone call to UHP headquarters confirmed Gov. Norm Bangerter's predicament. A state police spokesman said Bangerter was locked out and needed assistance. "It can happen to anyone," the spokesman said, happily. When he discovered he had no house key, the governor went to his limousine and radioed a UHP dispatcher, who in turn dispatched somebody with a key.
