Scott G Winterton,
Mountain View's Danja Stafford has the ball knocked away by Salem Hills' Dixie Lainhart as they play a high school basketball game in Salem on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.

With the 4A state tournament getting underway with first round games this Friday, the big question heading into the tournament is can anybody knock off Salem Hills and Mountain View? The Region 10 rivals seem on a collision course for a third meeting in the 4A championship at UVU, and it would probably take a major upset along the way to prevent it.

While their showdown seems inevitable, the rest of the 4A tourney seems to be wide open, beginning in the first round at home sites. No team seems safe in the opening rounds, not even the other region champs Cedar, Bonneville and Logan.
