Grizzlies gather on the court prior to the start of the team's 54-49 victory against the Herriman Mustangs at Copper Hills High School in West Jordan on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018.

There's no question that realignment and the extra classification diluted the depth of Class 6A. Of the 16 teams that qualified for the playoffs, six have sub-.500 records. The result figures to be a lot of blowouts in the first round of the state tournament at SLCC on Tuesday.

After that, the tourney should get very, very interesting and might match the late-round excitement of last years tourney.
