There's a lot of uncertainty heading into this year's 3A boys basketball state tournament. Morgan was the only team in 3A to march through region play unscathed, while every other team suffered at least two region losses. For the most part, teams in 3A just took turns beating either other. Is it parity or mediocrity?
Those questions will start to get answered this Saturday with the opening round of the 3A state tournament at Wasatch High School. After that, the tourney shifts to Dixie State the following weekend in St. George. American Leadership, Juab, Richfield and Carbon all qualified for the playoffs with sub-.500 records this year, but don't be surprised if at least one of the them pulls off the first round upset.
