The third time was the charm for Utah in a 62-53 win against Wake Forest after falling the previous two seasons. The Demon Deacons didnt have Tim Duncan anymore, but they came into the game 6-0 and ranked 24th in the country.

The Utes, who improved to 7-0 and moved into the top 10 in both polls afterward, held Wake Forest to its worst shooting percentage in 24 years (28 percent).

Andre Miller, Michael Doleac and Hanno Mottola combined for 50 points.
