Joe Ingles told Australian reporters that he would like the Jazz to pick up fellow Aussie and former Utes center Andrew Bogut.

"I would love for him to come over to Utah," Ingles said according to the Australian website SBS. "He's got a connection there already and if they want to take him I'll happily have him."

The 32-year-old Bogut was waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers after sustaining a leg fracture and is looking for a new home as a free agent. Speaking of Bogut, the Australian sports opinion website The Roar called him Australia's best basketball player ever.

BYU-Utah game ranked in top Pac-12 nonconference games

Utah's trip to BYU was rated No. 6 in Athlon Sports' Top 12 Pac-12 nonconference games.

Kyle Kensing of Athlon had this to say about the game: "This rivalry lacks any warm, fuzzy feelings. You will not find a more bitter rivalry in college football, and recent scores bear out the intensity. Utah's one-point win in Salt Lake City a season ago extended a five-game streak of games decided by single digits. All but one game since 2009 have been similarly competitive. And yet, for as close as these games have been, Utah has been thoroughly dominant. The Utes aim to extend their winning streak to seven games, but it won't be easy: Sitake has what should be the most well-rounded BYU team since 2009."

49ers pick up former Ute Tim Patrick

The San Francisco 49ers claimed former Utah wide receiver Tim Patrick off waivers on Monday, according to the 49ers official website. Patrick replaces injured wide receiver B.J. Johnson III who suffered a hamstring injury and had to be waived, according to the 49ers Webzone blog.

Patrick originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens before they waived him on Sunday. With Patrick back on a roster, that brings the number of former Utes on NFL rosters back to 43.
