LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Kaleb Cowart hit for the cycle, as the Salt Lake Bees topped the Las Vegas 51s 16-2 on Thursday.
Cowart doubled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, homered in the sixth, tripled in the eighth, and doubled in the ninth.
Las Vegas cut the deficit to 3-1 in the second after Travis Taijeron hit an RBI single, driving in Kevin Plawecki.
Salt Lake answered in the next half-inning when Tony Sanchez hit a two-run single.
The Bees later scored in six more innings to put the game away, including three runs in the fifth and eighth innings. In the fifth, Sanchez hit a two-run home run, while Jefry Marte scored on a ground out in the eighth.
Salt Lake right-hander Luis Diaz (2-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings. Opposing starter Donovan Hand (1-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed nine runs and 12 hits over five innings.
Salt Lake hit a season-high 10 doubles in its victory.
Salt Lake improved to 4-1 against Las Vegas this season.
