Albert Rusnak vs. Chicago Fire on March 11, 2017.

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. It didn't take long for Real Salt Lake to fall behind on the road in a 2-0 loss to the Chicago Fire Saturday afternoon at Toyota Park.

Chicago's Nemanja Nikolić took advantage of confusion caused by a misplay by RSL defender Stephen Sunday and buried his shot on a 1-on-1 with Nick Rimando at the 10-minute mark.

Just a few minutes later at the 15 minute mark Arturo Alvarez weaved through the box into the center and fired a shot that hit off the planted foot of defender David Horst, and found its way into the net with Rimando leaning the other way.

Top performer: Alvarez showed off some impressive creativity on his goal and nearly had another in the second half, forcing Rimando to make a diving save to prevent what would have been Chicago's third goal of the afternoon.

Record: Real Salt Lake (0-1-1, sixth place in Western Conference), Chicago Fire (1-0-1, first place in Eastern Conference)
