PROVO — The BYU Cougars rallied to knock off the Portland Pilots 73-62 and give Dave Rose his 300th victory Saturday night at the Marriott Center.

After trailing for much of the second half, Yoeli Childs hit two free throws to take the lead 63-61 with 3:01 left in the game. The free throws came in the middle of a 13-0 run that gave the Cougars the lead for good.

Childs 15 points and 10 rebounds. Rose is only the second BYU men's basketball coach to reach that mark.

BYU: Eric Mika had 22 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

Portland: Gabe Taylor had 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
