PROVO — Eric Mika scored 27 points to lead BYU past Loyola Marymount 85-77 on Saturday night in the Marriott Center.

The Cougars led for most of the first half and all of the second half, but could never pulled away from the Lions.

TJ Haws and Nick Emery combined for 30 points, but shot a combined 4 of 11 from the 3-point line.

• BYU outrebounded Loyola Marymount 46 to 32.

• BYU's Steven Beo had one of his best games of the season, scoring 7 points.

• The Lions shot just 56 percent from the line. The Cougars didn't fare much better, missing 16 freebies on 44 attempts.
