FILE — Multiple TRAX trains were halted Friday night, causing commuter delays after an overhead wire fell onto a train downtown.

SALT LAKE CITY All TRAX lines resumed regular service shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday after portions of the system were stalled by power outages Friday evening and much of Saturday.

Overhead wires were apparently damaged by a power surge Friday night. Wires failed at 350 S. Main and 150 S. 400 West in Salt Lake City. Utah Transit Authority repair crews worked throughout the day to resume service.

Although UTA officials announced at 6:48 p.m. Saturday that all lines were open, bus bridges remained in place Saturday until regular schedules could resume.

Earlier in the day, UTA asked riders to find alternative transportation to Utah Jazz and University of Utah basketball games.
