SALT LAKE CITY — They made it a close game, especially late down the stretch, but the Utes were unable to snap No. 10 Oregons now 17-game winning streak losing 73-67.

After holding a slim lead for most of the first half, the Utes fell behind late in the period going into the halftime break down 33-31. Oregon then expanded its lead, at one point taking a 13 point in the second half.

A 3-pointer by Kyle Kumza brought the score within four at 70-66. After a couple of Oregon miscues, the Utes had opportunities to decrease the deficit but couldnt get any closer as the Ducks closed out the game.


• Utah lost the turnover battle, committing 15 giveaways compared to nine by Oregon.

• The Utes out-rebounded the Ducks 33-28.

• Back from injury, Utah big man David Collette chipped in 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Records: Utah (14-6, 5-3), Oregon (19-2, 8-0)


Utah: Kuzma led the Utes with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Oregon: Dillon Brooks was the game's high scorer with 19 points.
