PROVO ā€” Four Cougars scored in double figures as BYU rolled past Pepperdine 99-70.

Pepperdine kept pace by trading baskets back and forth with the BYU Cougars for the first 13 minutes or so. Then Eric Mika and company caught fire and pulled away, making 12 straight field goals in what ended up as a 23-8 run to take a 51-35 halftime lead. At the break, Mika already had 16 points and seven rebounds.

BYU continued to build on its lead, at one point gaining a 32-point advantage in the second half. Mika finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

ā€¢ The Cougars outrebounded the Waves 55-32.

ā€¢ With the first made basket of the game, Nick Emery broke Jimmer Fredette's BYU record of consecutive games with a 3-pointer made with 29.

Leaders

BYU: Mika finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Yoeli Childs had a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with eight points.

Pepperdine: Lamond Murray Jr. had a game-high 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting.
