SALT LAKE CITY — After a two-year break, the Utes and Cougars square off in the regular season once again.

The Cougars are looking to end a five-game losing streak to Utah and haven’t won in Salt Lake City since 2006. Meanwhile, the Utes are seeking to continue building momentum before opening Pac-12 play Sept. 23 at home against USC.

Here are the trends: The Utes have an 18-1 record and 13 straight victories in non-conference games since joining the Pac-12 in 2011. The lone loss was an overtime setback at Utah State in 2012. Since 2008, the Cougars are on the wrong side of a 25-6 turnover margin against the Utes. BYU turned the ball over on its first five possessions in last year’s Las Vegas Bowl.
