The Dream team trailed the U.S. Select team by 17 at halftime but came back to win 96-90 in an exhibition game.

John Stockton said it was the best kind of game we could have had to open the exhibition season.

In the second half, Hakeem Olajuwon and Scottie Pippen scored 27 of the Olympic teams first 29 points to help cut the deficit to two, and a 17-7 run prevented the Dream Team from losing for the first time.

Karl Malone had 13 points.
