Two local teams were shown the road to Omaha.

The NCAA selection committee announced the field for the NCAA baseball tournament on Monday.

Utah, who secured the Pac-12 title in dramatic fashion over the weekend, is the No. 4 seed in the Oxford Regional. The Utes (25-27) will first take on No. 1 seed and regional host Ole Miss (43-17). Their first game is Friday at 6 p.m. MT.

For Utah, it's the second NCAA tournament appearance in 56 years.

UVU, the winner of the Western Athletic Conference tournament, is a No. 4 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional. The Wolverines (37-21) will square off first against No. 1 seed and regional host LSU (42-18). The two teams will meet up Friday at 1 p.m. MT.

This year marks the first trip to the NCAA tournament for UVU.

BYU, who shared the West Coast Conference regular season title, was left out of the field. Saint Mary's made the tournament as the WCC tournament champion and Gonzaga was selected as an at-large team.

Four teams make up each regional for 64 total regional teams. They each play a double elimination tournament within their regional to determine 16 super regional teams.
