Original story

Boston Celtics rookie Eric Williams became a footnote in the NBA record book when John Stockton stole the ball from him with 8:21 remaining in the game for his 2,311th steal, making the Utah Jazz guard the league's all-time steals king.

"I didn't think going down that 'this was it' or anything," Stockton said. "I just took a swipe at it."

Stockton passed another milestone by making one 3-pointer, passing Darrell Griffith to become the Jazz's all-time leader with 531 makes.
