Little did Deseret News Jazz beat writer Jody Genessy know that what started with him covering the Utah Jazz victory Friday night would end with him being stuck in the Big Apple during a blizzard Saturday.
Genessy is one of the Utah locals braving Winter Storm Jonas — also known as Snowbama, Snowmageddon and Snowzilla — that is making its way through New York. He was originally set to be covering Utah's game against the Wizards on Saturday, but the game was postponed due to the weather.
The Jazz Beat writer took to the streets with a live Periscope of the weather. However, his phone froze up mid-Periscope.
"It was SO cold," he said on Twitter.
Stay tuned to his Periscope to see if his live footage of the storm continues.
My phone froze up and stopped working mid-Periscope while I was strolling through a mostly deserted New York City. It was SO cold.
