The No. 24 Southern Utah mens cross-country team will compete Saturday morning at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships for the second straight year.

The Thunderbirds, who won their first-ever Big Sky title this season, earned their way to nationals at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky., with a better-than-expected fourth-place finish at the Mountain Regional in Albuquerque, N.M.

"(Returning to nationals) speaks to the quality of the program, the quality of athletes that are coming in and the support system they have around them," SUU coach Eric Houle said in a release issued by the school. "It speaks to anybody that ever dreamed of doing something big, its happening right here at Southern Utah."

A live webcast of all the national championship events will be streamed at The 31 top teams and the top qualifiers from each region will race at approximately 11 a.m. MST.
