BYU sophomore forward Nadia Gomes earned West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors while Cougar junior Rachel Boaz was named the league's goalkeeper of the year on Tuesday.

Seven Cougars earned All-WCC honors. Other BYU honorees included junior midfielder Elena Medeiros (All-WCC first team), junior midfielder Michele Murphy Vasconcelos (first team), sophomore midfielder Bizzy Phillips (second team), sophomore defender Taylor Campbell Isom (honorable mention) and freshman midfielder Madie Siddoway (All-WCC freshman team).

Gomes has a conference-best nine goals and two assists this season. She is the second straight Cougar to earn the WCC Player of the Year award, one year after Ashley Hatch won it.

Boaz has 72 saves on the season and 13 combined shutouts. If the season ended today, she would hold the program record for goal against average and save percentage in a season.

The postseason begins for the Cougars on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA tournament against Utah Valley University. Game time is 1 p.m. MST at South Field.
