Not every scenario for every region is presented, but the most probable outcomes are included, assuming one can predict what teenage boys are likely to do.

In Region 1, the winner of Mountain Crest at Sky View is region champ and top seed; the loser gets second. Roy has clinched third and Fremont has secured fourth.

Region 2’s Davis is the likely top seed. Hunter and Syracuse play for second and third, although a Syracuse loss drops it to fourth if Viewmont defeats Granger. Granger and Viewmont meet to determine the final seed, although Viewmont snares third if it wins and Syracuse loses. Layton has to upset Davis to force a region playoff.

In Region 3, Bingham hosts Brighton and grabs the No. 1 seed by winning. Jordan likely takes second, Brighton third and West Jordan fourth. A Brighton upset ties the Bengals, Bingham and Jordan in first with a coin flip to determine seeding.

Lone Peak at Herriman decides Region 4’s outright region champ and top seed; the loser gets second. American Fork invades Pleasant Grove to determine third and fourth.

Moving to Class 4A: in Region 5, if favored East, Highland and Bountiful win, they’re the top seeds in that order. Bonneville, Box Elder and Woods Cross then face a three-way playoff for the fourth spot.

Olympus has the No. 1 seed wrapped up in Region 6. Kearns has secured second and Murray is likely third. Barring upsets, Cyprus, Hillcrest and Skyline undergo a three-way playoff for fourth and the right to play Timpview, the defending 4A champ, in the first round.

Region 7 leader Timpview has clinched first, Provo second and Alta hosts Corner Canyon to decide third and fourth.

Springville and Wasatch are assured the top seeds in Region 8. Assuming Spanish Fork defeats Payson, the crucial matchup is Salem Hills at Maple Mountain. A Maple Mountain victory gives the Eagles third and Spanish Fork fourth. If Salem Hills wins, there’s a three-way tie for the final two spots between Maple Mountain, Salem Hills and Spanish Fork.

In 3AA North, Logan and Tooele are the top seeds. Bear River, Judge, Park City and Stansbury are all tied for third, so there are lots of possibilities – too many to explore here. But barring upsets, the likely seeding will be Stansbury, Park City, Bear River and Judge.

In 3AA South, teams play for seeding since all qualify. If the favored teams win, the seeding is Dixie, Desert Hills, Hurricane, Cedar, Pine View and Snow Canyon.

Moving to 3A North, the likely seeding is Juan Diego, Morgan, Union and Emery.

But 3A South gets a little complicated with four basic outcomes. The Juab-at-Manti winner is region champ but North Sanpete can claim a share of the title by defeating Canyon View.

Scenario 1: Juab and North Sanpete win. Then, seeding is North Sanpete, Juab, Manti, Canyon View. Scenario 2: Juab and Canyon View win. Seeding is Juab, Canyon View, Manti, North Sanpete. Scenario 3: Manti and North Sanpete win. Seeding is Manti, North Sanpete, Juab, Canyon View. Scenario 4: Manti and Canyon View win. Seeding is Manti, Canyon View, North Sanpete, Juab. If Delta defeats Richfield and NS beats Canyon View, then CV and Delta tie and playoff for the fourth and final berth.

In 1A North, barring upsets, likely seeding is Duchesne, Rich, Altamont and Layton Christian.

Diamond Ranch has claimed top billing and Milford is fourth in 1A South. Monticello at Kanab decides second and third.

Class 2A first-round games

Enterprise hosts American Leadership as these two programs meet for the first time. ALA is looking for its first tournament victory in six attempts.

Grand and Gunnison last dueled in 2010. Grand holds a 6-3 series edge and has won four straight over the Bulldogs. This meeting marks their first in the postseason.

Millard goes for its 41st home playoff victory – the most in the state – when the Eagles battle South Sevier. They last met in 2013 when South Sevier nipped Millard 27-26 in double overtime in a first round game at Millard. SS has claimed three of the last five over Millard, but the Eagles still have a 27-9 record against the Rams since they first clashed in 1929.

Summit Academy entertains North Sevier in another first-time meeting. NS hopes to upset SA and claim its first playoff victory since winning the Class 1A title in 2008.
