NEW YORK — Last week's Tony Award nominations made only some box offices on Broadway sing.
"Fun Home," a poignant show about growing up with a closeted dad that got 12 nods, earned $95,000 more than the previous week. It had a weekly total of about $532,000.
"Something Rotten!" a big, bawdy show about the birth of the first musical, earned 10 nominations on Tuesday, had its best week, earning over $801,000, an increase of $84,000.
Not all the top nominated shows did better. "Wolf Hall Parts One and Two," with eight nominations, actually lost $9,500 from last week, and "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" lost $82,000. "Hand to God" earned only an extra $3,000. "An American in Paris" lost $15,000 but still ended the week over $1.2 million.
