"Saint Katherine was scrappy, hustled and made some challenging shots from beyond the arc," Utah Valley head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They came in and gave us a battle. Certainly a better feeling leaving the court as victors and hopefully we can build on this win as we re-enter WAC play."

Utah Valley shot an impressive 55.2 percent from the field with six made threes. The Wolverines held Saint Katherine to a 31.3 percent clip. UVU out-rebounded the Firebirds, 50-27.

Marcel Davis tallied 14 points in the win. He was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, including a perfect 1-of-1 from beyond the arc. Davis tied a career high with eight assists to go along with six rebounds. Mitch Bruneel added 12 points in the win, connecting on 6-of-11 shots.
