Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Mike Bobo runs a drill during an NCAA college football practice at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012.

Two people familiar with the negotiations tell the Associated Press that Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has tentatively agreed to become Colorado State's next football coach.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the details of the deal have not been finalized.

Bobo takes over for Jim McElwain, who bolted for Florida after leading the Rams to one of their best regular seasons in program history.

A former Georgia quarterback, Bobo has been on Mark Richt's staff since 2001. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2007.

Dave Baldwin served as Colorado State's interim coach in the Las Vegas Bowl last weekend, where the Rams lost 45-10 loss to No. 23 Utah to finish 10-3.
